arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to progress their
planning career in the Council’s Development Management team. If you are
a recent graduate with a degree in a built environment related discipline, or a
person with equivalent qualification/experience, this is your chance to develop
your skills and commence an exciting career in planning, joining an ambitious
local authority with a positive growth agenda. As an Assistant planner you will
have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of work dealing with minor
planning applications, householder applications, and new housing development,
design, and enforcement. You will also have a profile within the Council
more widely, with the opportunity to explore different services as you look to
develop a possible career in Local Government. You will be given every
opportunity to progress through the career grade to the Planner role in order
to become a Chartered Member of the RTPI.
To be considered for this post you must meet the essential criteria in the key requirements related to the Assistant Planner post or the Planner post. The successful candidate will be appointed either on the Assistant Planner post or the Planner post depending on the qualifications, skills and experience.
Interviews will be undertaken in early January 2020.
