The Contracts and Procurement Officer will be responsible for leading high value procurement activity focusing within Highways and Environments departments although work could encompass all departments within the Council. The successful candidate will be required to deliver a client focused professional service, providing advice and assistance to services on procurement related matters. The role is responsible for developing commodity and contract strategies, delivering the tender process in compliance with legislation, and providing advice and training to external suppliers and leading on market engagement events to promote contract opportunities and learn more about the commodities they are working in.
The successful candidate will be able to deliver financial and non-financial benefits, recognise opportunities and deliver added value for the Council.
You will be educated to CIPS Level 4 (or equivalent experience), with experience in a procurement setting. It is desirable that such experience is within a public sector environment.
You will have strong communication and presentation skills, bringing with you a positive attitude and motivation to the team.
