An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established team of Officers working together to create a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Wyre.
As part of the Environment Enforcement Team, you will play a key role in delivering the Council’s commitment to tackling the crime and grime agenda including the problems of litter, dog fouling/control, fly-tipping, fly-posting, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, stray dogs and other environmental nuisance, contributing towards making Wyre safer, as well as monitoring other key service contracts and actively promoting waste minimisation and recycling initiatives.
You will be required to work on your own responding to queries, leading on projects, and on occasions link up with other team members and engage with individuals and community groups to address the above areas.
Environment Enforcement Officers will be able to
carry out a range of engagement and
enforcement duties including issuing Fixed Penalty Tickets, investigating
incidents, creation of prosecution files and various other legal notices to
crack down on people who drop litter, fly-tip or allow their dogs to foul or be
out of control in public places.
This is a high profile service and we are keen to enhance the service and get residents and businesses alike to take ownership and join us to tackle environmental issues. The Officer will be expected to engage with these stakeholders and promote responsible citizenship and encourage everyone to ‘do their bit’.
A full UK driving licence is essential. The post is primarily mobile and will involve manual handling and weekend working.
