A growing company established in Wigan, Lancashire, in 1963, is seeking a Trade Counter sales Advisor to join the team. You will be assisting in the day to day trading with the general public and providing a first-class, customer service experience, while demonstrating your knowledge of the products available, to maximise sales and increase repeat business opportunities. Key attributes that a successful candidate will demonstrate are enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn about all aspects of the company, in order to represent the vast array of products and specialist equipment available from an industry leading business. This customer facing role requires applicants that are people focused, with impressive communication skills and the ability to maximise sales whilst maintaining positive, personable relations.

The company is one of the UK's leading independent stockists and distributors of high-quality professional hand and power tools, storage equipment and power tool accessories, supplying to professional building and construction tradesmen, as well as the keen DIY enthusiast. Previous experience within the power tools industry would be beneficial to those considering applying, but not essential.

As Trade Counter Sales Advisor your duties will include:


  • ·Maintaining the company’s reputation as one of the industry’s leading power tool specialists

  • ·Providing a first-class customer orientated experience

  • ·Quickly learning and demonstrating knowledge of the extensive product range, in order to advise customers on the best purchases available

  • ·Upselling products to generate sales and increase repeat business opportunities

  • ·Building rapport with existing and new clients to encourage customer loyalty
  • ·Delivering great communication skills when collaborating with customers, suppliers, peers and management
  • ·Following through all customer enquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • ·Being conscientious and considerate to the individual needs of each customer
  • ·Constantly develop skills by utilising internal training and information available
  • ·Assisting with stock management
  • ·Supporting fellow colleagues with assistance when needed
  • ·Learning to use and utilise in house IT programmes

To be successful in this Sales Advisor role you will have the following skills and experience:
