CoolKit has grown rapidly, in recent years and is now widely recognised as the foremost specialist in products for temperature controlled distribution. As such it is the largest converter of refrigerated vans in the UK, focussing on vehicles used by the pharmaceuticals, foodservice, catering and analytical testing industries.
Following major investment, CoolKit currently employs more than 90 people. In 2017, they produced more than 1,250 temperature controlled vehicle conversions, but new contracts recently won will see this number growing.

What Skills do you need?
Experience in Manufacturing Joinery, for example with experience of working in a fitting or fabricating environment;
Candidates with experience of working on commercial vehicles (LCV/LGV) or in coachbuilding are particulary welcome;
Close attention to instructions, detail and high quality of finish;
Competent using air and battery powered tools including drill, riveter, jigsaw, circular saw, reciprocating saw, angle grinder, together with competence using hand tools including knives, sealant application guns and hand saws.
What will you be doing?
- Assembling vehicle insulating kits which have been fabricated from GRP & PVC sheet and XPS insulated boards, using polyurethane sealants, expanding PU foam & fixings including rivets.
In addition other tasks include:
Some General Purpose resin and gel coat application;
Trim fitting techniques including use of contact adhesives;
Using solvents including white spirit, acetone and foam gun cleaner ;
Vehicle cutting and drilling in preparation for receiving refrigeration units ;
Vehicle electrical wiring basics (loom extensions etc.);
Occasional metal fabrication (working principally with aluminium and stainless steel).
Other useful capabilities:
Licensed driver (LCV)
Fibreglass or moulding experience.
A successful candidate will be:

Always considering health and safety for themselves and those around you
Willing and able to work reasonable overtime as and when required to do so
Experienced candidates are ideal - but training will be given.
What will you earn?
Attractive hourly rates ranging from £8.00 to £10.00 are available to start, fully dependant on proven experience, skills and successful probation period.
Overtime is regularly available at a minimum of time and a half rate.
The position is full time, Mon -Thurs 7.15am – 4.00pm and Fri 7:15am – 11:45am.
